Life can feel like a rollercoaster leaving you wondering which way is up or down. Despite the twists and turns, you have the strength to brave the ride. I understand that taking the first step is one of the hardest and I believe you have the power to move forward and take control.
I am passionate about treatment that encompasses holistic care (mind + body + soul). Through using an eclectic approach we can work to reprogram the nervous system, and when appropriate, using energy healing techniques that can best support you. Incorporated into treatment are models such as but not limited to Choice Theory, CBT, Mindfulness, Reiki and Emotional Freedom Technique.
I strive to best support you by providing tools and skills you can use to feel more confident in problem solving and be more inspired to pursue the things you want in life. My goal is to assist you in discovering the most authentic version of yourself and to gain the emotional resilience to be able to bounce back efficiently from the challenges life throws your way.
I am a North Carolina native, born and raised in the Raleigh area. My love of science and working with children led me to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Science Education from North Carolina State University. I taught high school in both Wake County and Atlanta, GA for a total of ten years. As a teacher I wanted to do more to help students who were struggling, so I decided to take a leap and enter the field of counseling. In 2018, I earned a Masters of Education in School Counseling from my alma mater. During my experience as a school counselor I was able to witness the impact that family dynamics has on not only the academic success of children, but also their social and emotional health. My compassion and drive to do more inspired me to make the move into the community mental health field providing intensive in-home services to youth and their families, granting the opportunity to continue building my skillset in working with adults as well. Taking the next steps as I enter into the private practice setting, I enjoy working with ages ranging from adolescents (12-19) to adults and families.
I look forward to working with you!
